HC Deb 01 August 1984 vol 65 c299W
Mr. Hickmet

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Glanford and Scunthorpe on 30 July, whether he has received any representations about the effect of the level of rates levied on the British Steel Corporation's five major integrated plants on their ability to meet their financial targets.

Mr. Norman Lamont

The corporation has expressed concern at the level of rates levied on its plants. Rates are a considerable burden for the corporation.
