HC Deb 30 April 1984 vol 59 cc47-8W
Mr. Meadowcroft

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will estimate the cost to the National Health Service of converting all its hospitals to the new model anaesthetic vaporisers.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

The cost of replacing the United Kingdom stock of Tec 2 vaporisers with other Cyprane models is approximately £80,000 per region. For replacement spread over the full period from first notification of withdrawal of service, the cost equates to some £15,000 per region per year.
