asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what information he has as to the number of strategic weapons controlled by the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics; and for each country which are (a) air-launched, (b) submarine-launched and (c) ground-launched.

Published British and NATO figures for United States and Soviet strategic nuclear forces are expressed in terms of strategic missiles and bombers which can deliver nuclear weapons. These are as follows:
