HC Deb 25 April 1984 vol 58 c559W
Mrs. Ann Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the total amount so far paid out in compensation to those who have suffered injury as a result of rubella vaccinations; and how many people such compensation has been paid to in each of the years since 1974.

Dr. Boyson

Two awards, totalling £20,000, have been made under the Vaccine Damage Payments Act 1979 on the basis that vaccination against rubella resulted in severe disablement. One such award was made in 1979; one in 1980.
