HC Deb 25 April 1984 vol 58 c519W
Mr. Corbyn

asked the Secretary of State for Transport how many lorries have been stopped by officers of his Department on the Al within the Greater London council boundary for the purpose of examining their loading; and how many were subsequently found to be overweight.

Mrs. Chalker

A scheme for a dynamic axle weighbridge on the Al at Holloway road, Islington, has been included in the 1984–85 enforcement weighbridge programme. Until this weighbridge is installed, it is not possible to weigh on site. Thus, none of the 4,066 lorries checkweighed by my Department's traffic examiners in the year ending 30 September 1983, in Greater London, could be checked on the Al as described.
