asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) if he has consulted the national joint industrial council for the heating and ventilating contracting industry with regard to the implementation of the 16 to 18s action plan;

(2) if he has consulted the Heating and Ventilating Contractors' Association with regard to the implementation of the 16 to 18s action plan.

Consultations with industry and other users of existing courses and qualifications on implementation of the 16 to 18s action plan are being carried out through the sector and course committees of Scottish Technical Education Council (SCOTEC) and the Scottish Business Education Council (SCOTBEC). Specialists from relevant sectors of industry and commerce are also included in the membership of small working groups dealing with proposed modules for specialised requirements.
