HC Deb 13 April 1984 vol 58 c441W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what proportion of the undergraduate students at universities in Scotland received their secondary education in Scotland.

Mr. Allan Stewart

The information is not readily available. For 1982–83, the latest year for which figures are available, 75 per cent. of full-time undergraduate students at universities in Scotland were domiciled in Scotland; and it is probable that the great majority of these students received their secondary education in Scotland.
