§ Mr. Peter ReesQuarterly estimates of income and expenditure are published in tables 3.1, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2 of "Financial Statistics". These tables also provide information on transfer payments. Longer runs of figures are published annually in sections 7 and 8 of "National Income and Expenditure". The table on pages 162–164 of the 1984 edition of "Economic Trends Annual Supplement" gives a summary of transfer payments by general government (central Government plus local authorities) annually from 1946 and quarterly from 1961.
