HC Deb 13 April 1984 vol 58 c424W
Ms. Harman

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people are currently in prison in London on remand awaiting trial.

Mr. Hurd

It is estimated from central records that on 29 February 1984 about 1,300 untried prisoners were in local prisons and remand centres in greater London (that is, Brixton, Holloway, Latchmere House, Pentonville, Wandsworth and Wormwood Scrubs).
