Mr. Gould

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry in 1983, what was (a) the United Kingdom output, by volume and price, (b) the level of imports (i) in total and (ii) from the EEC, (c) the level of exports, by volume and price, and (d) the extent of import penetration of the United Kingdom market, of cars, commercial vehicles, motor vehicle components, footwear, textiles, clothing, washing machines, television sets, cutlery, furniture, carpets, steel and bicycles, respectively; and how these figures compare with those for 1979.
