HC Deb 13 April 1984 vol 58 cc442-3W
Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give for each year since 1970 the total number of National Health Service pay beds in Scotland, the total number of paying patients occupying those beds, the beds' average occupancy rate and the income raised by the use of the beds expressed first in gross terms, secondly after allowing for movement in the retail price index and thirdly after allowing for movement in National Health Service pay and prices.

Mr. John MacKay

The available information is detailed as follows: Comparative figures for movement in NHS pay and prices cannot be provided. Total numbers of paying patients occupying pay beds are not collected centrally.
