Mr. Neale

Mrs. Chalker

The last traffic count taken on the Launceston bypass was on 3 August 1976 when 7,161 vehicles were recorded, including 945 heavy goods vehicles and public service vehicles.

The last traffic counts taken on the Bodmin bypass were on 9 August 1977. Between Innis Down and the A38 junction, 8,422 vehicles were recorded, including 1,194 heavy goods vehicles and public service vehicles. Between the A38 junction and Bolventor, 6,054 vehicles were recorded, including 769 heavy goods vehicles and public service vehicles. All figures are for a 16-hour day (6 am-10 pm) two-way flow.

In addition, continuous automatic traffic counts have ben made on adjacent sections of the A30 near to both bypasses. In the case of the Launceston bypass these have been made since 1976 and in the case of the Bodmin bypass since 1970.
