§ Mr. Lyellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish in the Official Report a list of all schemes dependent upon conditions attached to supervision orders as provided for by the Criminal Justice Act 1982 and the Children and Young Persons Act 1969, as amended, which offer the courts alternatives to custody for heavy end offenders aged 10 years and over, showing in each case the available duration of each scheme and the number of places offered thereunder at any one time.
§ Mr. John PattenSection 19 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1969 requires each local authority to list all locally available intermediate treatment facilities of this kind in a scheme which must be provided to the local courts and made freely available to the public. Copies of these schemes are not held centrally.
