§ Mr. Marlowasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will tabulate the agricultural support schemes available for 1984 divided into (a) United Kingdom financed and (b) European Economic Community financed, listing in each case (i) the various trigger prices, target, intervention guide and so on, (ii) the average level of increase-decrease to the average Community farmer in his own currency (iii) the average level of increase-decrease to the United Kingdom fanner, (iv) the dates of the month and year and, (v) the estimated annual cost (aa) in the current year and (bb) last year, together with the total cost of United Kingdom and of common agricultural policy support within the United Kingdom and in total.
§ Mr. MacGregorDetails of the recent settlement of 1984–85 CAP prices will be deposited in the Library of the House shortly. This will answer most of my hon. Friend's questions.
Agricultural market support schemes applicable in 1984 in the United Kingdom which involve national or part national financing comprise the beef variable premium scheme, payable at a maximum rate of £40.21 per eligible animal of average weight; the suckler cow subsidy, payable at £24.74 per eligible cow; the guaranteed price for wool, which will be raised by 5p to 120p per kilogram for 1 May 1984; and the guaranteed price arrangements for potatoes, under which a guaranteed price of £43.94 is operated.
Expenditure under the EAGGF guarantee section in 1983 totalled 15,812 million ecu (£9,300 million), and the Community budget provision for 1984 is 16,542 million ecu (£10,200 million). Details of expenditure on market support measures in the United Kingdom in 1983–84 and 1984–85 are set out in the Supply Estimates 1984–85 Class III Votes 1 and 3 (Section A), Class XV Vote 1 and Class XVI Vote 2, a copy of which is available in the Library of the House.
