§ 50. Dr. Glynasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department who will be called upon to fund the difference between the £1.5 million additional funds offered to the Thames Valley police and the net amount they will receive; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HurdOne and a half million pounds was paid to Thames Valley police authority on 3 February 1984. It has also received monthly advances of police grant totalling £31.2 million for 1983–84. The total net police expenditure for the year will qualify for 50 per cent. police grant. The remainder will be paid by the constituent counties. The basis of the contributions made by the constituent counties to the Thames Valley police fund are set out in the Thames Valley Police Amalgamation Scheme (Modification) Order 1974.
