HC Deb 12 April 1984 vol 58 c338W
Mr. Randall

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if any of his Department's "Office of the Future" pilot projects have yet been replicated in other user sites; and what direct steps he is taking to encourage such replication.

Mr. Kenneth Baker

The majority of the Department's "Office of the Future" pilots are still at a stage of development which makes consideration of installing similar systems elsewhere premature. However, a number have already proved sufficiently valuable to the users that plans are being formulated for their extension.

The Department has just embarked on the preparation of a series of publications describing these pilot projects and their effects on the working environments in which they are sited. We expect that systems of the type implemented in this programme will be studied and replicated by users in both the public and private sectors.
