Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services, for each year since 1970, what were the total payments by local authorities to (i) the voluntary sector and (ii) the private sector for accommodation and other services; and if he will break down these figures to show the payments each year for services for (a) the elderly, (b) the young handicapped, (c) the mentally handicapped: adults, (d) the mentally handicapped: children, (e) the mentally ill, (f) home helps, (g) meals in home, (h) contributions to warden's salaries and (i) holidays and recreation.
