§ Mr. Peter Bruinvelsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many demonstrators have been arrested at Greenham common, since their action began, in each year and to date.
§ Mr. HurdThe information requested is not collected centrally, but I understand from the chief constable of the Thames Valley police that the number of arrests relating to incidents at Greenham common was 82 in 1982, 1,057 in 1983 and 165 from 1 January to 6 April 1984. Similar information was not recorded before 1982, but the number of such arrests is thought to have been small.
