§ Mr. Peter Bruinvelsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he intends to take any new measures to deal with serious commercial fraud.
§ Mr. Brittan[pursuant to his reply, 8 November 1983, c. 83–84]: On 8 November I announced that the Lord Chancellor and I had decided to appoint a committee under the chairmanship of Lord Roskill to consider how the conduct of criminal proceedings in England and Wales arising from fraud could be improved, and what changes would be desirable to secure their just, expeditious and economical disposal.
