HC Deb 12 April 1984 vol 58 c305W
Mr. Arnold

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received since May 1979 about the construction of a Poynton bypass.

Mrs. Chalker

I have received some 20 representations from individuals and organisations about the construction of a Poynton bypass. They include a petition of 4,182 signatures requesting that the proposed A6(M) Stockport north-south bypass should terminate at High lane unless a relief road for Poynton can be constructed concurrently.

Mr. Arnold

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received since May 1979 about the construction of the High lane-Disley-New Mills bypass.

Mrs. Chalker

I have received representations from 15 individuals and organisations urging me to include bypasses of High lane, Disley and New Mills in the trunk road programme.
