HC Deb 11 April 1984 vol 58 c284W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretay of State for Social Services if it is the normal practice for the supply division of his Department to receive unsolicited requests for business; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

Virtually all contracts to supply the National Health Service are placed by health authorities. Inquiries received by the supply division of our Department from companies wishing to participate in these arrangements would normally be referred to the Health Service supply council, the body responsible for supply policy in the National Health Service.
