§ Mr. Pavittasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what consultations he is undertaking on the proposed introduction of general managers at unit level within the National Health Service, in the light of the recommendation contained in paragraph 67 of the report of the Social Services Committee.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeWe are currently considering our response to the Social Services Committee report on the NHS management inquiry. We have received already comments from health authorities and the main professional and other interests concerned on the management inquiry report's recommendations for establishing the general management function at unit level.
