HC Deb 11 April 1984 vol 58 c269W
Sir John Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what extension there is to be of less favoured areas in the Province.

Mr. Butler

The recent European Community redefinition of the United Kingdom less favoured areas increases the percentage of agricultural land in Northern Ireland designated as less favoured from some 44 per cent. to approximately 75 per cent. The areas now designated were published in the European CommunitiesOfficial Journal on 26 March 1984 (Council Directive 84/169 of 28 February 1984).
