asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what conclusions he has reached on the Rayner-style scrutiny of National Health Service recruitment advertising.

Mr. John Patten

My right hon. Friend has now published the report on National Health Service recruitment advertising, and copies of the report and of his letter to health authority chairmen and accompanying press notice have been placed in the Library of the House.

A final decision on the future approach to national advertising will depend on the discussions with publishing interests, preparations for which are being put in hand.
