HC Deb 09 April 1984 vol 58 c108W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will estimate how much of his departmental expenditure in 1984–85 will be on services in Wales of direct relevance to persons over retiring age in Wales; and how this figure compares with the corresponding figure for 1979–80 in real terms.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

It is not possible to provide a meaningful estimate of how much expenditure within class XVI of the Supply Estimates is on services of direct relevance to persons over retiring age. However, I shall write to the hon. Gentleman giving him some background information and shall place a copy of my letter in the Library.
