HC Deb 09 April 1984 vol 58 cc27-8W
34. Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received from the British Medical Association concerning the issue of parking badges to nurses; and what consideration he is giving to amending the special car badge scheme so as to meet the needs of all those who use a car in the course of their professional duties for domiciliary visits, including practising physiotherapists.

Mrs. Chalker

The British Medical Association has asked if the nurses' professional associations could take over from them the task of issuing badges to nursing staff. We are consulting the Home Office because of enforcement aspects. I do not see any prospect of extending the scheme to cover physiotherapists or others not involved in emergency visits.
