asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to complete his study of the monitoring of noise levels from traffic on the M25 motorway in the Byfleet area.

We have almost completed the analysis of the noise measurements recently taken in this area. I will be in touch with my hon. Friend shortly.

Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he is satisfied that the noise suppression measures on the M25 motorway in the Byfleet area are up to the full standard promised by his Department's witnesses at the public inquiry.

The physical measures actually provided are those promised at the Inquiry. But if the noise measurements currently being taken show that additional protection is justified, it will of course be provided.
