§ Mr. Nellistasked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the number of notified vacancies unfilled at each jobcentre in the Coventry and Warwickshire area in each of the standard industrial classifications; and what was the total number of unemployed at each jobcentre on the same date.
§ Mr. Alan ClarkTable 1 gives, for 3 February, the latest date for which the information is available, the numbers of notified vacancies remaining unfilled at the jobcentres specified, analysed according to the 1980 standard industrial classification. Table 2 gives the total numbers of unemployed claimants in the jobcentre areas on 9 February.
The vacancy figures relate only to vacancies notified to the jobcentres and remaining unfilled on the day of the count; vacancies notified to jobcentres are estimated to be about one-third of all vacancies in the economy as a whole. The figures do not include vacancies notified to professional and executive recruitment offices or community programme vacancies.
