§ Mr. Douglasasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on the discussions his Department has had on the future of the Co-operative Development Agency with (a) the Manpower Services Commission and (b) the local authority associations.
§ Mr. TrippierThis Department consulted other Government Departments including the Department of Employment and Manpower Services Commission and many outside organisations on the future of the Co-operative Development Agency. The Manpower Services Commission was broadly content that the agency should be continued as proposed in the Co-operative Development Agency and Industrial Development Bill. Local authority associations were not consulted.
