Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he plans to continue the charter of Tor Caledonia for use in the Falkland Islands.

Mr. Stanley

We have no plans to extend the charter of Tor Caledonia beyond the present period.

Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what has been the cost over a convenient 12-month period of chartering the Aveloma Star and Andalucia Star for use in the Falkland Islands.

Mr. Stanley

Costs paid to the owner of a chartered vessel are a commercially confidential matter between the Ministry of Defence and the owner concerned.
