§ Mr. BrookeThe grant-in-aid from the science budget for the Science and Engineering Research Council in 1984–85 is £278.8 million. This amount includes £7 million to assist the council with the increased cost of its international subscriptions. The equivalent figure for 1983–84 was £254.5 million.
