§ Mr. Terlezkiasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will estimate how much of the pre-1920 United Kingdom housing stock is in need of immediate repair; and what proportion could be repaired rather than demolished and replaced by new development.
§ Sir George YoungThe English and Welsh house condition surveys of 1981 collected information about the amount of repairs required and analyses for pre-1919 housing are included in the reports which are available in the Library.
The appropriate action for housing which is in disrepair is a matter for decision in individual cases by owners or by local authorities.
