Mr. Corbyn

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what the latest available figures are for policy district Y and N in Islington per year for (a) people stopped and searched and (b) arrested without being charged; and what is the breakdown of these figures by police station.

I understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that the latest available information relates to 1983 and is as given in the following table. The table shows the number of persons or vehicles recorded as stopped; statistics showing the number of occasions on which a search was conducted are not available. Information on arrests not followed by a charge is not available. The information given for police stations relates to all stops in these station areas.
