HC Deb 05 April 1984 vol 57 c623W
Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many trips abroad have been made by Ministers in his Department since May 1979; and what was the cost.

Mr. Gummer

[pursuant to his reply, 30 January 1984,c. 30]: I regret to say that this was based on incomplete information. Since May 1979 up to the end of January 1984 there were 57 visits by Department of Employment ministers to the rest of the European Community and 13 visits abroad to other countries.

I also regret that, as certain records have been found to be incomplete, information as to the full cost of the visits can be provided only at disproportionate expense.
