§ Mr. Proctorasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he has had recent discusions with the Government of the Republic of South Africa with regard to (a) the new international agreements concluded between that Government and the Governments of Angola and Mozambique, and (b) the situation concerning South West Africa-Namibia; and whether he plans any changes in British foreign policy towards Southern Africa in the light of recent developments in the region.
§ Mr. RifkindWe have welcomed the developments to which my hon. Friend refers. I was able to discuss them with a senior member of the South African Government, Dr. Viljoen, in London last month. Our policy remains to support dialogue and the negotiated settlement of problems between the countries of the region.
