§ Mr. AncramThe number of drunkenness offences recorded by the police in Scotland for the years 1974 to 1979 were published in table 2.7 of "Criminal Statistics, Scotland 1979" (Cmnd. 8215). The comparable figure for 1970 was 13,559. Figures for 1981 and 1982 were published in Scottish Home and Health Department statistical bulletin No. 2/1983, "Recorded Crime in Scotland 1982", table 4. The provisional figure for 1983 is 15,046.
