HC Deb 04 April 1984 vol 57 cc559-60W
Mr. Cohen

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received about the funding and organisation of archaeological works if the Greater London council and the metropolitan counties are abolished; how many such representations were in favour of or against the abolition of the Greater London council and metropolitan counties; and whether it remains his policy to transfer responsibility to the borough and district councils.

Mr. Waldegrave

I shall be making available a summary analysis of the main points arising in consultation. The Government will reach a decision thereafter.
