HC Deb 03 April 1984 vol 57 cc471-2W
Mr. Michael Forsyth

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list for each year since its creation the businesses in which the Scottish Development Agency had an interest which have ceased trading and the loss of public funds incurred in each case.

Mr. Allan Stewart

[pursuant to his reply, 9 February 1984, c. 760]: Total amounts written off by the agency each year, in respect of companies which have ceased trading, are as follows. Figures of aggregate annual investment by the agency are given for comparison purposes. I have written to my hon. Friend giving particulars of the companies involved.

Mr. John MacKay

Detailed records of expenditure on the services requested are not maintained on a constant price basis. The following table apportions total community health expenditure as far as practicable between these services, in cash terms for the years 1978–79 to 1982–83. No such apportionment can be made for the year 1977–78. The allocation of resources between services is a matter for Health Boards in light of local needs and circumstances.
