Mr. Fisher

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) how many copies of the reports of Her Majesty's Inspectors of Schools on schools or groups of schools have been printed; and whether he will list them by school or group of schools and size of print run;

(2) how many reports of Her Majesty's Inspectors of Schools on individual schools or groups of schools have been published; how many inspections are currently taking place; and whether he will list them by school or group of schools and by local education authority.

[pursuant to his reply, 26 March 1984, c. 44]: Since January 1983 when I began publication of the reports of Her Majesty's Inspectors' formal inspections of schools and colleges, 304 have been published. These are listed as follows together with the number of each printed. Another 50 reports have been completed and are awaiting publication; and a further 156 inspections have taken place, reports on which are in the course of preparation.
