Mr. Beggs

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list the numbers and percentage of pupils who qualified for grammar school places in (a) controlled primary schools and (b) maintained primary schools in each of the last five years in Northern Ireland.

The grades obtained by pupils in the transfer procedure which enabled them to be considered for a non-fee-paying place in a grammar school are as follows:
