Mr. Ryman

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many (a) senior registrars (b) registrars and (c) senior house officers in audiological medicine are currently employed by each of the regional health authorities.

The number and whole-time equivalent of senior registrars, registrars and senior house officers in audiological medicine employed by each English regional health authority at 30 September 1983 is given in the following table.

It should be noted that a number of senior registrars, registrars and senior house officers involved in audiological medicine are employed in ear, nose and throat departments.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many physiological measurement technicians (audiology) are currently employed by each of the regional health authorities;

(2) how many audiological scientists are currently employed by each of the regional health authorities;

(3) how many hearing therapists are currently employed by each of the regional health authorities.
