§ Mr. BrookeIn the academic year 1982–83, there were 2,770,000 enrolments of whom 900,000 were men and 1,870,000 women on courses of adult education in England provided by adult education centres, community centres, youth clubs, residential colleges maintained or assisted by local education authorities, university extramural departments and the Workers Educational 373W Association. Information about the social and ethnic make-up of these people is not collected by the Department.
