§ Mr. WaddingtonThe fee payable on application for naturalisation as a British citizen is normally £200, but if the applicant is the spouse of a British citizen the fee is £70. If a husband and wife apply together and at that time they are residing together the total fee is £270. Fees for naturalisation were last increased in April 1982 and the factors that determined them were the expected costs both of processing the applications and of the inquiries outside the nationality division of the Home Office.
