§ Mr. Foulkesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects to publish regulations arising out of the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Bill relating to residential homes for elderly people.
§ Mr. John PattenWe have recently completed consultation on proposals for the content of regulations under part I of schedule 4 to the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983, and intend to make the regulations themselves early next year. The aim is to give local authorities adequate notice of the detailed changes in registration and inspection arrangements before they come into effect later in the year.
