HL Deb 27 October 1983 vol 444 c422WA
The Baroness Macleod of Borve

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will make a statement on the future of the South London Hospital.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health and Social Security (Lord Glenarthur)

The Wandsworth Health Authority has put forward proposals to close the South London Hospital for Women and to re-provide these services in other hospitals within the district. Following extensive local consultation, the matter has now been referred to Ministers for a final decision. A decision will be announced very shortly. I am sorry I cannot give my noble friend a more detailed reply at this stage.
