§ Sir George YoungIn February the Government introduced a scheme to assist private owners of Airey houses. My right hon. Friend is considering the findings of the Building Research Establishment's initial studies of certain prefabricated reinforced concrete houses and a statement will be made as soon as possible. Local authorities are responsible for repairs to their own housing stock and loan charges on capitalised repairs are taken into account in calculating entitlement to housing subsidy.
§ 51. Dr. Godmanasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is his estimate of the total number of houses and other dwellings built by system building which are now in need of repair.
