§ Mr. Peter MorrisonA total of 3,353 16-year-old pupils left school in Rotherham in 1983. Of those whose whereabouts were known to the careers service at 20 October, 497 had found work, 480 had entered further education, 1,700 had accepted youth training scheme places and 462 were unemployed. Of these, 362 had yet to be offered a place but 212 were under submission for places. Similar figures are not available for older school leavers.
