§ Mr. John PattenWe have received no representations on the use of Orobronze sun-tan capsules. However, the Department has been asked by the consumer safety unit of the Department of Trade and Industry to assess the safety-in-use of this product, and we have in turn sought the comments of our independent expert advisory committee on the toxicity of chemicals in food, consumer products and the environment. This committee has advised that, although the available data show no evidence of harm, there is currently insufficient information available to adequately assess the safety of this product. The committee's request for additional information has been52W passed to the Department of Trade and Industry which, I understand, is taking the necessary follow-up action with the manufacturers.
