§ Mr. Amessasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will consider removing the statue carved and donated by Mr. Henry Moore and which stands by the Abbey Garden and opposite the Victoria Tower.
§ Mr. MacFarlaneNo. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment has no intention of removing Henry Moore's sculpture "Knife Edge—two piece" from Abingdon Street garden. The work was given to the nation in 1967 by the artist and the Contemporary Art Society. The site was considered to be the finest in London for the purpose. I can see no reason to remove it now.
