Friend has had a number of recent contacts with the chairman of the Highlands and Islands Development Board but their last meeting to deal with specific issues affecting the board was on 22 April 1983, when fisheries matters were discussed. My right hon. and noble Friend the Minister of State, who has special responsibilities for the Highlands and Islands, meets the chairman regularly, most recently on 28 October 1983.
